How To Know Jesus

What is life? What’s the meaning to living? Do we have a purpose? Is there such a thing as love? What is truth? Are there absolutes?
Why are we here?
What is life?

Our minds are sometimes trivial things, and those questions are some that are always left to ring in our ears. What is the truth?

*********

The story of life started many years ago, when God said those deafening words that was written upon history, “Let there be light.” A command that started our very beings.

We may never know why God created us, but He did. He loved us; He not only created us, but also created us in His image!

* Genesis 1:27 – So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.

He loved us so, and made everything in order for us!

Sadly, the evil that was within the world, started in the heart of Satan, came into where we did reside. God loved us, so He gave us a free will. He didn’t want us to serve Him and love Him because we had to; He gave us a free will so we could choose, and really love Him, just because we could! When sin offered us a new idea of power, we had a choice: believe God and know He was our source of power, or trust in ourselves and try to add unto ourselves by vain attempts. Sadly, we chose to let evil into our hearts, and the two humans that God first created chose to eat the fruit. It was more than just eating something we were told not to; it was disobedience to God for our own search of power.

* 1 Timothy 6:10 – For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.

Why do people seek after money? Money is desired because of the power that comes along with it. The knowledge the devil promised Eve she would gain from eating something forbidden, was desired for the power it would grant. Genesis 3:5 For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil.

God had every right, and reason to destroy us and send us to hell immediately. He was/is Almighty, holy, and perfect. He had every right to forget us, but He didn’t! In that sad, so tormented moment of human history, we failed, and we deserved punishment.Though, God ever merciful, still let His love cover us! He forgave us still!

All through history, that same thing proved true, God’s love would follow us and heal us still!

God saw our trouble. We had no hope for our punishment was waiting for us; we could not pay, for we were only sinners. So, God did what no other person, king, or thing could’ve; He came down in our form: Jesus! Jesus came down and suffered with every thing we do, but still lived a perfect life. He was all God and all man. He taught, He loved, and He knew us!
Then He went to a wooden cross, and died, not only taking the full gruesome pain of this death, but also all the guilt and pain from all the sins of the whole wide world. He opened His arms wide open, just to clean you!

He died, but though the grave was sealed tight, three days later He rose again! He went back to heaven, and shows us every day, as the sun comes up, how much He loves us.

Our Saviour still opens His arms wide open, just to welcome you!

What is life? What’s the meaning to living? Do we have a purpose? Is there such a thing as love? What is truth? Are there absolutes?
Why are we here?

  • What is life?

Life is the gift God gave us, because He loves us! Life is the journey we are all placed upon for one reason: to know our God, the God who loves us, and gave us this life, and every breath we breathe. There is no meaning to life outside of Him.

* Luke 9:23 – And he said to [them] all, If any [man] will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me.

  • What’s the meaning to living?

The meaning to living is finding the will of God who loves you! The meaning lies in finding and serving the Saviour. When you will do that, life can become happy. We will all have troubles (as the Bible tells us) but a Christian has Jesus to walk with them through all these troubles and hurts the world might throw their way.

* Psalms 46:1 – God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.

  • Do we have a purpose?

We do have a purpose! We were not a mistake, or an accident! Every detail of you was handcrafted by the Lord Jehovah, just so you could fulfill the purpose He has given you.
You have a purpose, and that is to serve the glorious Saviour, praise Him, and love Him. This is the way to joy!

* Proverbs 16:9 – A man’s heart deviseth his way: but the LORD directeth his steps.

  • Is there such a thing as love?

Yes, there is! Love is a subject that confuses many people, but love can be understood if you know what love really is.
Love is from God, and thus how we know how to love, and give love to others. God told us many times what the two most important, explicit commandments are, in several verses.
#1. To love God with all our heart, mind, and soul!
#2. To love our neighbor as ourself!

Love took up both of those commandments. Why? Because Jesus first loved us, and that consumes every purpose and plan in life–LOVE! Love (God’s love) is perfect and casts out all fear.

* Matthew 22:36-40 – Master, which is the great commandment in the law?
Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.
This is the first and great commandment.
And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.
On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.

  • What is truth?

Truth is God! The truth of God is endowed upon our very being! When God created us, He made a knowing inside us of His presence; His fingerprint was upon His creation, so we could have no reason not to see Him. When someone runs from God, they end up running, and losing a piece, if not all, of themselves! Because God is in us, God is for us, and God is everything. He is truth!

* Romans 1:20 – For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse:

  • Are there absolutes?

There are absolutes! The Bible is our source of knowledge, our absolutes. It tells us not to kill, for we are to love one another. It tells us not to drink strong drink, for wine is a mocker. The Bible tells us our absolutes! It tells us what we should do, as well as what we shouldn’t. God leads us through His written Word.

* 2 Timothy 3:16 – All scripture [is] given by inspiration of God, and [is] profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:

  • Why are we here?

We are here for the purpose to serve the Almighty Saviour and King–Jesus Christ!

1 Samuel 12:24 – Only fear the LORD, and serve him in truth with all your heart: for consider how great [things] he hath done for you.

How To Know Jesus!

Here we are, at the point and view point of this page…

The world is not our home, for after death we have two places we could go…
Heaven:
* Revelation 21:4 – And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.

Or, hell:
* Revelation 21:8 – But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.

The determining factor:
* Revelation 21:15 – And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.

Hell was created for the devil, demons, and evil, but because we have let sin consume us, and come into our hearts, that same evil is dragging us to hell as well.
Jesus Christ is the only way to Salvation! Jesus came to pay our punishment for these sins, and only by Him could these sins be forgiven.

To receive forgiveness of sins, and eternal life, to live with Christ in your heart, you must:
* Realize you are a sinner.
* Believe in Jesus Christ! (That Jesus Christ is God, the only way to salvation, and that His death, burial and resurrection has made a way to that forgiveness.)
* Ask the Lord Jesus Christ to forgive you of your sins, and ask Him to come into your heart and save you.

* Romans 10:9-10 – That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.

* Romans 6:33 – For the wages of sin [is] death; but the gift of God [is] eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Christ wants to know you! He wants to be with you…after all, He died for you!
All you have to do, is call on His name! I can promise, He will listen.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Do you know the Lord Jesus Christ?
If you do, you are now a child of God, and Jesus will always be with you! In the hard times, God will be there. Always know you can talk to Christ, He is the friend that sticketh closer than a brother. ❤
The Lord commands us to take up our cross and follow Him! That means to read the Bible, talk and pray to Christ, and follow the Lord with all your heart.
* 1 Peter 2:21 – For even hereunto were ye called: because Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that ye should follow his steps:
There will always be challenges and struggles along the way, but above all, never, ever, EVER forget a fact that is the movement of the world:
Jesus loves you!!
This isn’t the end. Follow Him every single day, and make it to the goal with a smile.
  1. Thank you for sharing this wonderful post with me Mary! I can understand and recall mostly all of your scripture references, which makes me very happy. This post is very well done, informative, and helpful! \(^O^)/
    I realize that my answer was not accurate enough to effectively answer your question now. The Heavens has always been there for me and I have never turned my back on them, as far as I know.
    My confession and understanding of being a sinner was probably around my teenage years. I get my moments where I find the Lord and I having a deep conversation concerning myself. My dad gave me the New Testament on 11/28/04 (November, 28 2004), 11 years old and some months. I was 14 years old at the time, but still had my ups and downs trying to read.
    My bible was washed in the washing machine by accident one time. I would always find some getting in the way of my reading once I reached a certain point. Then it felt like I had to always start from the beginning of the bible to relearn everything again.
    This was not the only reason I struggled to finish the book by now, but most common ones. Whether I read the bible or not, still had conversations with the Lord and never turned away from him. I have asked for forgiveness many times, confessed to the Lord that I am a sinner, and always have accepted him into my life.
    I am still unsure about being a “Saved” person, but the Lord has been through all my trials and tribulations with me. He has not been turned away, forgotten, or not considered in any way. Nothing for me is possible without them (The Heavens — Heavenly Beings as a whole). Maybe I have already been saved and not know, but I am willing to try again the right way.
    * When did you get saved? (Relate): I can remember talking to the Lord in the living room as a teenager and spilling my guts out to him about many things relating to me. I told him that I do not know how to pray correctly, if there was a correct way. That I know I am a sinner, but doing what I can to do the right thing in his sight. People around me that create conflicts just do not want or not understand me. How or what else could I possibly do to keep peace?
    I begged and cried on the couch for the Lord to forgive me and come into my life. Told him that I was ready and willing for him to work his will through me. Not sure of what happened later, but that is what I can remember from years ago.
    Does this answer work better for this question Mary?
    Thanks again for sharing, enjoyed reading and I love the references. Have an uplifting day! 🙂 😀 XD
    • Aw, most welcome! And thank you so very much for reading, and sharing with me this beautiful testimony!! 😀
      Aw, yes!! So great of verses, hehe!!
      Aw, that’s so sweet your Dad gave you that, and that it means so much to you! ❤
      Aw, haha, I so know that feeling, (like you needed to start over!)
      Aw, that's grand!!
      If you have done the above, (realized your sin, asked for forgiveness, and salvation, and believed on Christ,) then you have Christ living in your heart, and you are saved by Jesus my friend! 😀
      So true!
      God knows you love Him, but yes, to obtain God's salvation we do have to do the above. But, I'm not sure if you have done that or not, and only you can know for sure my friend. ❤
      It works perfect my friend!! That was utterly beautiful! So glad that you shared with me; it really touched me!
      Stay blessed!! 😀
