3 Things I’ve Found Out From Talking To Others… Including, Myself…

Talking is one of the best gifts ever given by our Saviour, and still there are so many different ways of talking to people…

Internet communication is talking, and many times I realize things that bother others, or… More or less, bothers me, that can, in fact, be easily changed!

So… Yeah, I really have so much other I’m supposed to get done, but I just really needed to get this out…

*drum roll*
“3 Things I’ve Found Out From Talking to Others… Including, Myself…”

There is absolutely nothing wrong with talking to yourself…
(Figured I should get that out before someone told me I should worry…)
Maybe, I should? 😛

** Jeremiah 1:9 **
Then the LORD put forth his hand, and touched my mouth. And the LORD said unto me, Behold, I have put my words in thy mouth.

Talking to people online has opened a whole world of revelations to me…
I’ve learnt that there are some absolutely, amazing people in this world!
And, while saying that, I’ve also realized there are some… Shall we say, not too polite people in that very same world…

While overlooking that idea, there are so many unique people, therefore so many unique, and spontaneous ways to talk…
But, here are three helpful ideas, that I have realized people like – including myself – and, they can be used oh so much! 😛

——————————————

(Hang in here with me…)

#1.) Don’t JUST Ask Questions!!

Yeah, asking questions are such a wonderful, and in depth way to get to know someone!
But, I find that sometimes these questions get a little… *cough* dry…

When you ask someone how their day was, and they say it was good – don’t just leave it at that!
Instead, ask what they ate for lunch, what they were doing at 3 PM, what they are currently thinking on, or just what they wished they had this exact moment!
(Exactly!)

Random, spontaneous questions are A-mazing!
Ask something no one has asked that person, that day… Or rather, what they have never been asked!

These crazy questions are awesome, cause they let the other person know you are thinking creatively about what to talk to them about, and why!

… So… Um… Pepperoni, or extra cheese? 😛 …

#2.) Talk About Yourself… Would Ya?

Now, I never thought I’d be giving out this advice… Cause really, many people have a problem of talking about themselves… Well, all the time!!

But, then again, some people being kind, often don’t talk about themselves at all!

There is a balance in this!
When someone asks you what you have done today, go into detail, about what tasks you took to mind today!
Sometimes, giving some information about yourself, helps open up the other person to feel more at ease about talking about themselves!

There is a balance – just tell about yourself, then incorporate the question you were asked into something creative, to ask the other person! (;

And, last but definitely not the least helpful…
#3.) Bringing Up Past Mentions!

Something I’ve learned from talking to people is that they love to see if you remember things!
Literally, if someone tells you something, bring it up later, just to let them know you had been listening, and care!

They say that a week from now they have a serious soccer game – then a week from now tell them you know they will do great at that soccer game!!

You know, when people remember something I’ve said long ago, even if it means me just saying my favorite color, and they remember, then I feel pretty special, because I truly know they care!
Remember those little things – and make sure they know you’ve been listening!
😀

Really, internet communication is no different than actual, face – to -face communication, (other than the relief for those like me who have anxiety tensions :P).
You show the same respect, thought, and care toward these folks, online, that you would in a voice chat!

Don’t just talk to people to advertise your new book, music video, or etc… I know, nowadays the way to maintain a business, or even a money making talent is to advertise, but, the best way to advertise is to build a friendship, and trust with a person – then you will have a true, lifelong supporter!!

Internet has brought a lot of trouble… (Let’s bolden trouble!)
But even though the internet can be a tool for Satan, it can also be a beautiful gift from God!
It all matters how you treat it!

** 2 Corinthians 6:11-13 **
O [ye] Corinthians, our mouth is open unto you, our heart is enlarged.

That keyboard, and those screens can be your outreach, and change the world, with a few taps of a button…

Follow Christ, and use your words, (even the typed ones,) in a profound way! 🙂

  1. Great post, m’dear!! 😀 ❤

Hm… what do I love/hate about internet communication..?
Seriously, one of the worst things about internet communication is when someone doesn't understand a sarcastic comment. As you well know… on rare occasions, I can be slightly sarcastic. 😛 But I have had to really be cautious about what I saw and to whom I say it because I have been misunderstood too many times… :/

On the other hand, one of the best things about internet communication is the totally random conversations that have come up with complete strangers… that have resulted in unexpected friendships! 😀

  2. This was my favorite blog post from you yet! Great job MK!!!!

I have really been surprised by the many online friendships I’ve made over the years. Yes, you still have to be cautious with making friends, but no more than you have to with making friends in person. I think too many people view the internet as evil and overlook the many benefits it provides. If we just think of how much more we can spread the gospel through the internet we could become a huge impact in the internet community. And, we have to be cautious with everything, not just the internet. 😉

  5. A very well thought out message Mary and very True, people love to feel someone cares and understands and when we respect others than this comes naturally.
Before I go shopping I ask God if there is anyone who needs to know today that He Loves them and if so please help me to be able to start a Conversation with them and surprisingly there has been quiet a few opportunities and mostly they have Thanked me for sharing that they are Loved and some Conversations have also lead to sharing the Gospel by refuting Evolution and explaining why it is impossible that we evolved from Apes, which was something that I believed as an Atheist for almost 30 years after being deceived at School.
You are so right Mary, God gave man the Wisdom to invent the Components for the Internet for His use even if Satan also uses it for evil , many have been reached through the Internet with God’s Truth or encouraged in their walk with Jesus, all good things come from Creation including the Materials to make Computers.
    Christian Love Always – Anne.

    • Thank you, my friend! 🙂 Mhm, that is the truth!
Aw, that’s so terrific! I’m glad to hear someone does that too. People forget that even in local places, like the grocery store or post office, we can be witnesses to show the love and goodness of Jesus above. I would love to hear about those opportunities sometime if you want to share. I love to hear them. 🙂 Oh wow, what deep conversations! I didn’t know you were once an atheist; it’s amazing how the Lord shows us His truth!

Yes, oh yes! Thanks so much for sharing your insight here; it’s really been intriguing and appreciated. 😀
      *Blessings and prayers!*
